Community Dialogue Project

For Students

Undergraduate, graduate, and medical students experience the Community Dialogue Project through a variety of engagement opportunities and training programs designed to build skills in communication, conflict resolution, and community-building.

Engagement Opportunities

  1. Core Modules in Fall Training: Students can participate in foundational training modules that cover key communication and conflict resolution skills.
  2. Train-the-Trainer Models: Students can learn how to facilitate training sessions themselves, empowering them to teach others.
  3. Ongoing, In-Service Training: Students can continue their development through regular training sessions that reinforce and expand their skills.
  4. Ongoing Coaching: Students receive support and guidance through one-on-one coaching to refine their abilities in real-world situations.

Programs Incorporated into Residential Programs: Students living on campus or in residential communities can engage with CDP through targeted programs designed to foster dialogue and conflict resolution within these environments.

Upon-Request Workshops and Direct Services: Students can request workshops or direct services that focus on specific needs, whether related to conflict mediation, community engagement, or personal growth in communication skills.

Workshops Targeting Professional Development: CDP offers workshops that help students build professional skills related to communication, conflict resolution, and leadership—valuable for future careers.

Students can also participate in specific direct services such as:

  • Facilitation: Helping groups or teams work through issues or make decisions collaboratively.
  • Mediation: Assisting in resolving conflicts between parties with different perspectives.
  • Conflict Coaching: Supporting individuals in navigating conflicts in a constructive manner.
