Dialogues

The Community Dialogue Project designs and facilitates Reflective Structured Dialogues to build mutual understanding across differences.

Community Dialogue Project Facilitators are trained in the design and delivery of Reflective Structured Dialogue (RSD). RSD was developed by CDP partner organization Essential Partners, with its origins in the Public Conversations Project. Research on the effectiveness and efficacy of RSD is available here

Reflective Structured Dialogue is a framework that supports mutual understanding across varied viewpoints, beliefs, and lived experiences. Facilitated Reflective Structured Dialogues do not seek to change the viewpoints of participants. Instead, they create a space to share different perspectives honestly through group storytelling and reflection, and build bridges across sincerely held differences.

CDP includes undergraduates, graduate students, and professional staff, all with formal training in designing and facilitating RSD. If you would like to host or invite participants to an RSD, please fill out our dialogue intake form, and a Coordinator will follow up to begin the dialogue design process with you. CDP can also host dialogues at the request of campus partners.
