The CDP partners closely with campus partners to provide opportunities for education, support, and resources for the Brown community.
The Multi-Partial Team upholds Brown’s mission of academic freedom and open inquiry by educating students, faculty, and staff who want to have their voices and concerns heard through activism, protest and demonstration about actions that may violate Brown's Code of Conduct and infringe on the rights of others.
The Restorative Justice Initiative focuses on bringing responsible and harmed parties together in facilitated dialogue about incidents that have caused harm to allow for healing and accountability.
The Sheridan Center for Teaching and Learning is a dedicated hub for enhancing teaching practices and fostering innovative learning experiences across the Brown community.
The Swearer Center is a community of scholars, students, practitioners and community members who works together to build on community strengths and address community challenges.

Many organizations across the country are engaged in important work to bridge the partisan divide and increase opportunities for constructive dialogue in order to create a more connected, empathetic world. The organizations below are not partnered with, nor endorsed by, Brown University, but are important resources for us as we deepen our understanding of this work.
Braver Angels is leading the nation’s largest cross-partisan, volunteer-led movement to bridge the partisan divide for the good of our democratic republic. Coming out of the election, we’re bringing together “We the People” to find a hopeful alternative to toxic politics.
The Center for Nonviolent Communication is an international nonprofit peacemaking organization. We believe that everyone’s needs matter and dialogue can resolve differences peacefully. Every day we support learners, trainers, and change agents around the world to create create an environment where everyone's needs can be met peacefully.
The Constructive Dialogue Institute works with institutions across the education, for-profit, non-profit, and public sectors to help them communicate across differences and build inclusive cultures.
The Dignity Index is an eight-point scale that scores speech along a continuum from contempt to dignity in as unbiased a manner as possible. UNITE formed the Dignity Index in 2021 as part of its efforts to help ease divisions in the country.
Listen First Project elevates the impact of the movement to bridge divides in America. It connects the efforts of 500 Listen First Coalition partners bringing people together across divides. It manages national campaigns and strategies for social cohesion. Listen First Project is the backbone organization for collective impact to save our country from breaking apart.
SDI is a capacity-building nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C. that helps people transform conflictual relationships and design change processes around the world. The organization teaches processes toward more equitable, less violent futures using a five-stage dialogue process for community building, diplomacy, peacemaking, conflict transformation, collaboration and reconciliation.
Unify America brings thousands of Americans together with interactive experiences that help people build civic muscles and work together to tackle our country’s biggest challenges.
